ARO designed their third showroom for Knoll in Houston, Texas, building off of the success of their designs for the New York and San Francisco locations. For this particular showroom, the design uses a palette inspired by Texas vernacular, incorporating brass, leather, and suede. These elements are subtly interspersed within simple details that play off of Knoll’s iconic modern design language.
A sculptural brass rail weaves its way through the space. It is used to hang a rotating selection of Knoll’s textiles and simultaneously divide programmatic areas. The design also includes white felt ceiling baffles that provide warmth and texture as well as acoustic absorption.
